Introducing MODAPRIMA, the International Showcase of Clothings and Accessories Collections for Medium and Large Retailers

We are glad to announce MODAPRIMA, the fourth Pitti Immagine signature event in Milan dedicated to large-scale retail organizations.

The 63rd edition of Modaprima will be held from 24 to 26 November 2007, at the MIC – Milano Convention Center, Fieramilanocity (Via Gattamelata 5). The fair, produced by Pitti Immagine will feature about 200 Made in Italy collections – and selected foreign firms – for the private label, ready-made areas for medium-and-large-scale retailers. As always Modaprima will offer previews of the 2008-2009 fall winter collections and flashes of the 2008 spring-summer collections.

Modaprima is becoming an increasingly important event for the industry. It is the ideal showcase for firms that distinguish themselves for product quality, research and innovation and want to show their women’s and men’s clothing and accessory collections at an event that attracts buyers from all over the world.

The data from the last edition confirm the growing success of the event that Pitti Immagine relaunched in 2006: roughly 200 clothing and accessory collections for men and women that were seen by 2,000 visitors over 50% of whom came from 47 countries (Japan, Spain, United States, Germany, Russia, France and Belgium were the highest ranking in terms of buyer attendance). What’s more, the three-day event received significant coverage from the trade press with over 50 accredited Italian and foreign journalists who saw the show.

“Pitti Immagine believes strongly in this event,“ says Agostino Poletto, Deputy General Manager of Pitti Immagine, “in the past two years we have concentrated our efforts on internationality, selection, research, segmentation, image innovation, product presentation and complementary services. And that is not all: at Modaprima we offer information about fashion trends and topics related to the industry’s economics and finances”.

The dynamism of Modaprima is also rooted in the constant commitment to promotion: advertising and targeted cooperation programs aimed at both new and traditional markets. These are conducted in conjunction with ICE – Istituto per il Commercio con l’Estero through networking with buyers Pitti Immagine can count on for its Florence and Milan events. This makes Modaprima a strategic event for Italian and foreign buyers because at the show they are sure to find products suited to the specific needs of large scale distribution and chain stores without sacrificing style or quality.

At Modaprima the new looks are the protagonists of Fashion Cube, the trend area curated by stylist Sergio Colantuoni together with the exhibitors. The new concept at the forthcoming edition reinvents living in and with nature in an ideal Green City- through a soft, elegant tour through warm, natural colors and 6 installations devoted to just as many “new glamour” themes.
